Tel Aviv: The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday that they had killed Yassin Abdel Menam Ezz al-Din, the Hezbollah artillery commander in the Litani region of Lebanon.
In a statement on X, the IDF explained that they carried out an airstrike yesterday in the Barish area in southern Lebanon, targeting and eliminating the terrorist. Ezz al-Din was accused of launching numerous attacks toward northern Israel during the conflict and attempting to rebuild Hezbollah’s artillery capabilities. The IDF condemned his actions as a clear violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon.
The IDF reaffirmed its ongoing efforts to monitor and prevent Hezbollah from preparing to attack Israel, emphasizing their commitment to neutralizing threats to Israeli citizens.
In another update, the IDF reported that it had demolished the home of Samer Hussein, who had carried out a shooting attack at the Gitti Avishar intersection in Ariel, in the West Bank, in November 2024.
Last night, engineering units from the Samaria Brigade demolished Hussein’s residence in the village of Einabus as part of a deterrence strategy. Hussein, affiliated with Hamas, had targeted a bus and a bus stop in November 2024, injuring nine people—including soldiers and civilians. The attack resulted in serious, moderate, and minor injuries.
The IDF explained that the home demolition was part of Israel’s policy to deter terrorism, stating that even attacks with no fatalities can lead to home demolitions when they are considered acts of terror. They reiterated their resolve to continue countering terrorist activities in Judea and Samaria and bringing terrorists to justice for actions against civilians and security forces.
