The state directorate of medical education has issued instructions to all medical colleges and has sought a compliance report with the new duty roster within a week. These orders will benefit about 1800 PGs, interns, junior residents and senior residents.

Doctors and health workers of medical colleges in the state went on strike for 10 days. Such orders were issued two days after raising this matter and other demands in a meeting with Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday.
