The Indian Government has issued new guidelines for Indian students studying in the United States, urging them to strictly adhere to American Laws.

New Delhi: The Indian Government has issued new guidelines for Indian students studying in the United States, urging them to strictly adhere to American Laws. The move comes after recent incidents involving two students: Badar Khan Suri, who was arrested in the US for allegedly spreading Hamas propaganda, and Ranjini Srinivasan, whose visa was canceled for participating in pro-Palestine rally.

The arrest of Badar Khan Suri and the deportation of Ranjini Srinivasan have raised concerns over the safety and conduct of Indian Nationals in the US. According to Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, both students had not sought assistance from the Indian Embassy in the US., which is typically the protocol in such cases.

The government’s new directive emphasizes the importance of abiding by local laws and regulations, warning students to avoid involvement in controversial activities that may jeopardize their stay or studies abroad. The Ministry also reiterated that students should reach out to the embassy in case of any legal or personal issues.

The Indian Embassy in Washington D.C. has also encouraged students to remain vigilant and ensure they are fully informed about US laws and visa conditions, to avoid facing similar situations.
