Khalistani terrorist Gajinder Singh, who hijacked a plane in 1981, has died in Pakistan after a prolonged illness. Gajinder Singh died during treatment at a hospital in Pakistan. Indian government declared him the most wanted terrorist and Indian intelligence agencies were trying to trace his location since 1996. Notorious Khalistani terrorist Gajinder Singh was also the founder of Dal Khalsa.

He hijacked the Delhi-Amritsar flight number AI-423 in protest against the arrest of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in 29 September, 1981. There were 111 passengers and six crew members on board the flight.

Gajinder and his Khalistani Associates had forced to land flight in Lahore. They demanded US$500,000 along with the release of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and several other Khalistani extremists.

Absconding after completion of 14 years Sentence

Pakistan Police and security agencies arrested Gajinder Singh and four his associates in flight hijacking case after international pressure. A court of Pakistan had sentenced him and his four associates to 14 years in prison. In the Year of 1995 Gajinder Singh completed his sentence and released from jail. In 1996 Gajinder went to Germany and applied for political assylum but India government raise objection. German government refuse his proposal and he came back to Pakistan. But Pakistan Never accept his presence in Pakistan.

After this, Gajinder Singh was never found. Indian intelligence agencies kept looking for him. The Indian government kept demanding to hand him over several times, but Pakistan repeatedly denied his presence.

Social media Picture reveal his presence in Pakistan

A social media post in 2021 revealed that he was hiding in Pakistan. In 2021, a member of the radical organization Dal Khalsa shared Gajinder Singh’s picture on Facebook and informed about his being in Pakistan. The post revealed that he was present at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal, Punjab province of Pakistan.
