Intolerable restrictions on women continue in Afghanistan, Taliban bans women from showing face, speaking in public

Along with this, women have been ordered to always cover their body and face completely with a thick cloth while in public places.

Kabul: In continuation of another intolerable restriction on women in Afghanistan by the Taliban, now it has implemented new laws regarding speaking of women at public places. Women have been strictly instructed to not talk outside their homes. Along with this, women have been ordered to always cover their body and face completely with a thick cloth while in public places.

The Supreme Leader of the Taliban, Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, has approved the new laws. These laws have been divided into two categories of halal and haram. The United Nations has strongly condemned this decision of the Taliban. Along with this, many human rights organizations have also objected to it. UN has condemned the new laws made by Taliban for women and girls and termed it as Distressing Vision for the future of the Country.

According to the English newspaper The Guardian, the Taliban has given the reason behind these laws and said that the voice of women can also distract the minds of men. To avoid this, women should refrain from speaking in public places.

The Taliban has also forbidden women from singing and reading loudly in their homes. Women or girls who are found guilty of breaking the new laws will be severely punished. This time, apart from women, the Taliban has also imposed some restrictions on men. Men will also have to cover their bodies up to the knees when going out of the house.
