Israel air strikes on Lebanon, 21 killed; Refugee building targeted in Christian area

Earlier, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had said that every area including Beirut, where Hezbollah has hideouts, will be attacked.

Beruit: Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that at least 21 people were killed and 8 injured in Israeli airstrikes in northern Lebanon on Monday. According to Al Jazeera, this Israeli attack took place in Aitou, a Christian area of Tripoli. Usually, Israel does not attack Christian areas.

According to the report, people who had fled from South Lebanon were living in an apartment in Aitou. Tripoli has been considered a safe area of Lebanon. However, Israel bombed a refugee camp here for the first time last week.

The Israeli army has not said anything about this attack. Earlier, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had said that every area including Beirut, where Hezbollah has hideouts, will be attacked.

Israel’s attack on Gaza continued on Tuesday as well. According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli army bombed the Salah-al-Din Mosque in southern Gaza on Tuesday morning. 29 people died in this.

The Israeli army said it had targeted terrorists hiding among civilians. However, it did not provide any evidence. Israel has repeatedly attacked crowded refugee camps and camps built in tents. It alleged that Hamas fighters are using them for attacks.

A few hours earlier, at least 4 people were killed in an Israeli air strike on a hospital complex in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian doctors said that due to the attack, many people were seriously burnt when a fire broke out in a refugee camp built for people displaced by the war.
