The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of Jaafar Khader Faour, a commander in charge of Hezbollah’s missile and rocket operations within its Nasser unit.
On Saturday, the IDF revealed that Faour was killed during a precise airstrike carried out by an Israeli Air Force fighter jet in the village of Jouaiyya in southern Lebanon, though the specific timing of the operation was not disclosed, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
The IDF stated that Faour played a crucial role in initiating Hezbollah’s first firing order on October 8 last year and has since been involved in numerous attacks from eastern Lebanon targeting Israeli civilians and military personnel.
He was also linked to several rocket assaults on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, including a strike on the Druze town of Majdal Shams, which tragically resulted in the deaths of 12 children and teenagers in July, according to the IDF.
In addition to Faour, another senior figure overseeing Hezbollah’s drone operations was reported to have been killed in the same airstrike.
Hezbollah has not yet issued a statement regarding this incident.
The Israeli military identified Jaafar Khader Faour as the head of the rocket and missile operations in Hezbollah’s Nasr regional division, responsible for the area from Mount Dov to Bint Jbeil.
