Tokyo: During his visit to Japan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted the significance of attracting investments to enhance employment opportunities for Indian youth. “I’m here to explore employment avenues for our youth, particularly by increasing investments. Under PM Modi’s leadership, India is on a developmental path, and every state must work to boost investment opportunities. This will not only enhance the GDP but also generate jobs for our young population,” he stated.

While in Kobe, CM Yadav paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary at the Gandhi Statue in India Club. “I offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. His life was dedicated to the nation, earning him respect through his actions, from Africa to India. His contributions to India’s freedom struggle set an ideal example for us all,” he said.

In Tokyo, CM Yadav met with Toshiyuki Shirai, President and COO of Nitori Holdings Co Ltd, to discuss potential investments in Madhya Pradesh’s furniture and textile sectors. He invited the Japanese delegation to expand their operations in the state, showcasing its robust industrial foundation. Shirai responded enthusiastically, indicating that it was a pleasure to learn about Madhya Pradesh’s opportunities and mentioning Nitori’s new Indian store, which opened on December 20, 2024.

Additionally, CM Yadav held discussions with the Chairman of Uniqlo, focusing on the company’s expansion in India, particularly in cotton cultivation. The chairman expressed interest in scouting talented Indian IT professionals for Uniqlo’s global workforce. CM Yadav assured the company of full support from the state and urged the chairman to attend the Global Investor Summit in Bhopal, underscoring Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to the “Farm to Foreign” initiative in textiles.

CM Yadav also met with Susumu Kataoka, Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), encouraging the establishment of a JETRO office in Madhya Pradesh. His visit highlighted the state’s aim to strengthen economic relations with Japan and create new business and job opportunities.

In discussions with members of the Indian diaspora, CM Yadav remarked, “Indians are like sugar in milk – they add sweetness and blend easily wherever they are.” He emphasized the positive changes India has undergone in the past decade under PM Modi’s leadership, noting that people now celebrate and feel festive during his visits. He articulated PM Modi’s vision for India to emerge as a ‘Vishwaguru’ on the global stage, comparing the diaspora’s role to that of a “guru” who lights the path, in reference to Japan as the “country of the sun.”

Furthermore, CM Yadav drew parallels between the current and previous administrations, stating that while Madhya Pradesh had only five medical colleges under the Congress, the BJP government has increased that number to 30, with plans to reach 50 in the future. Throughout his visit, MP CM Yadav engaged in numerous high-level meetings with business leaders, government officials, and investors.
