Protests have been going on in Kenya for several weeks against the tax bill. Under this bill, President William Ruto’s government is going to increase taxes in the country. Under this, revenue will be increased on all essential services in the country, from education to other services.

Protesters said – it will be difficult to survive due to new tax policy

Kenyan citizens say that due to the new law, essential items like eggs, onions and cooking oil will also become expensive. Apart from this, the government is also increasing taxes on goods and services. In such a situation, it will be difficult for the public to even have two meals a day.

The protesters alleged that President Ruto has been in power since 2022. His government has been continuously corrupt. Government funds were not used properly. During the protest, the protesters also demanded Ruto’s resignation.

In view of the protests, President Ruto announced the deployment of the army in the country. During a TV address, Ruto said that today the country has suffered heavy losses due to some dangerous people. We will give severe punishment to those responsible for this.
