Sydney: A man has tragically died after being stabbed near Kingswood train station in Sydney’s western suburbs. New South Wales (NSW) police reported that emergency services were alerted at around 10:20 PM local time on Tuesday, where they found a 58-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest. Despite receiving treatment at the scene and being transported to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
In a separate incident, a man in his 30s was hospitalized after being stabbed on a busy street in Melbourne’s inner suburbs on Wednesday. Police in Victoria reported that the stabbing occurred near a major intersection in Prahran, approximately four kilometers southeast of central Melbourne, shortly before 8 AM local time. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
Authorities are currently searching for an unknown male suspect in this case.
Additionally, on Tuesday, police in the Northern Territory reported that a man was hospitalized in critical condition after a targeted shooting in Coconut Grove, a suburb of Darwin. Officers responded to reports of the shooting just after 7 PM local time on Monday, where they found a 23-year-old man with shotgun pellet injuries to both legs. He was taken to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.
Two men, aged 19 and 22, along with a 22-year-old woman, were arrested in connection with the shooting in Katherine, about 270 kilometers southeast of Darwin. Police believe the attack was targeted, assuring that the public was not at risk at any time. Witnesses reported that the attackers exited a vehicle before the shooting occurred. Forensic teams are processing the scene and the vehicle involved.
