According to the Maritime Security Center, the oil tanker named Prestige Falcon left from Hamriya Port in Dubai. It was flying the flag of Comoros. It was going to Aden Port in Yemen. The oil tanker overturned about 46 km south-east of Ras Madrakah near the port town of Duqm. Search and rescue operations have been going on for two days in search of crew members.

According to news agency Reuters, the ship is still submerged upside down in the sea. Information about whether oil has leaked from it or not is not yet known. According to media reports, the location of the tanker that sank was updated four days ago.

Duqm Port is located on the southwestern coast of Oman, which is the main center of the country’s oil and gas mining projects. The oil refinery here is part of the large industrial area of ​​​​Dukm, which is Oman’s largest and only economic project.
