Russia: On Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin cautioned that Russia could potentially supply long-range weapons to other entities, enabling them to target Western locations in retaliation for NATO allies permitting Ukraine to utilize their weaponry for strikes on Russian soil.

Putin reiterated Moscow’s readiness to employ nuclear weapons in defense of its sovereignty. He warned that recent actions by the West could escalate tensions, posing significant threats to international security. Taking questions from international journalists, a rarity since Moscow’s military involvement in Ukraine, he emphasized the gravity of the situation and the potential for serious repercussions.

“Should they engage directly in the conflict against the Russian Federation, we reserve the right to respond in kind,” Putin asserted.

The US and Germany have recently granted Ukraine authorization to target certain sites within Russian territory using the long-range weaponry they are providing to Kyiv.
