Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced the appointment of Lt. Gen. Jennie Carignan as the first woman to lead the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Carignan. Lieutenant-General Carignan will take over as the chief of defence on July 18th. This appointment is in line with Trudeau’s continuing push to appoint women to the most senior.
The two Ministers had an in-depth exchange of views on finding an early resolution of the remaining issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh to stabilize and rebuild bilateral relations.
