Washington: Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a Pakistani national living in Canada, has been extradited to the United States on charges related to terrorism and providing material support to ISIS, FBI Director Kash Patel announced on ‘X’. According to Patel, Khan was accused of plotting a mass shooting in support of ISIS at a Jewish Center in Brooklyn, New York, scheduled for October 7, 2024—the first anniversary of Hamas’s attack in Israel.
Khan was arrested by Canadian authorities on September 4, 2024, after FBI teams and their partners uncovered his plans and thwarted the attack. He has now arrived in the U.S. to face justice. Patel emphasized that the case underscores the ongoing global threat of terrorism and warned about increasing threats against Jewish communities.
He also praised the efforts of FBI offices in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, along with their partners, for their crucial role in this investigation, which exemplifies international efforts to combat terrorism.
