New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on members of the Indian community living abroad to participate in the ‘Bharat Ko Janiye’ quiz, which aims to strengthen the ties between India and its diaspora worldwide.
In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi stated, “Strengthening the bond with our diaspora! I urge the Indian community abroad and friends from other countries to take part in the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz!” He emphasized that the quiz enhances the connection between India and its global diaspora while providing a fantastic opportunity to explore the country’s rich heritage and vibrant culture.
During his recent visit to Guyana, he specifically encouraged the local Indian community to engage in the quiz, highlighting the chance to reconnect with India and explore their roots tied to its values, culture, and diversity.
The fifth edition of the ‘Bharat Ko Janiye’ quiz was virtually launched by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on November 11. This online quiz, accessible at www.bkjquiz.com, runs from November 11 to December 11 and is open to two categories of participants: Non-Resident Indians and Persons of Indian Origin/Foreign nationals aged 14 to 50 years.
Participants will answer 30 questions, with each question allowing 30 seconds for a response. The top 30 scorers, with 15 from each category, will be invited for a two-week immersive tour known as the Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra, as well as the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar from January 8-10, 2025. All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
The quiz initiative began in 2015 following PM Modi’s announcement during the 13th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. Previously, it has been held in 2015, 2018, 2020, and 2022. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this initiative focuses on strengthening connections with the Indian diaspora, especially the youth, while engaging foreigners interested in India’s history, culture, development, and contributions to the world.
