New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with Tulsi Gabbard, the United States Director of National Intelligence, in New Delhi on Monday. The discussion centered around strengthening defence cooperation and enhancing intelligence sharing between India and the US.
Singh shared details of the meeting on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “It was a pleasure to meet US Director of National Intelligence, Ms. Tulsi Gabbard in New Delhi. We discussed a wide range of issues including defence and information sharing to further deepen the India-US partnership.”
Gabbard is on a multi-nation visit, with the Asia portion of her trip culminating in her address at the Raisina Dialogue on March 18. The event is a multinational gathering of security officials in Delhi, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited her to attend.
Earlier in the week, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Gabbard, and they discussed various aspects of the India-US relationship in detail. Gabbard’s visit follows Prime Minister Modi’s trip to the US in February, during which Modi met with her and described her as a “strong advocate” of the India-US relationship. Gabbard also expressed her honor in welcoming Modi, highlighting her commitment to furthering the US-India friendship.
Gabbard is also scheduled to engage in a keynote conversation with Samir Saran, President of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), at the 10th edition of the Raisina Dialogue, which is co-hosted by the Ministry of External Affairs and ORF.
The Raisina Dialogue, taking place from March 17-19, is India’s premier conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics, addressing critical global challenges. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the event, with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon delivering the keynote address.
