Tokyo: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has addressed a written letter to Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, emphasizing the enhancement of bilateral relations and the strengthening of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
The letter was delivered by Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and the UAE Special Envoy to Japan, during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo on Monday. The meeting was attended by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State, and Shihab Al Faheem, the UAE Ambassador to Japan.
Al Jaber conveyed President Sheikh Mohamed’s greetings to Prime Minister Ishiba and expressed the UAE’s wishes for Japan’s ongoing progress and prosperity, as well as hopes for the success of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai.
In response, Prime Minister Ishiba sent his greetings to President Sheikh Mohamed and expressed his aspirations for the continued development and growth of the UAE.
The two parties discussed various methods to enhance their bilateral relations under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2022. Al Jaber reaffirmed the UAE leadership’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and advancing ties to new strategic levels. He highlighted the potential for deepening collaboration in crucial sectors such as economy, trade, energy, industry, advanced technology, and space—areas that align with the sustainable development goals of both countries.
He also noted the longstanding friendship between the UAE and Japan, which dates back to before the UAE’s establishment, referencing Abu Dhabi’s participation in Expo 1970 in Osaka.
