Hanoi: A heartwrenching news has come out from Vietnam. A fire broke out in a small apartment here in Hanoi on Thursday midnight. At least 14 people died and three others were injured in the fire. The official media gave this information on Friday.

The official Vietnam News Agency said that the fire broke out at around 12:30 pm and several explosions took place along with it.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security said firefighters rescued seven people from the building after it became engulfed in flames.

The fire is believed to have started in the courtyard between two blocks used to sell and repair electric bicycles, state-run VnExpress reported.

Pictures from the apartment block showed charred belongings in the building’s courtyard and the fire-damaged interior of the first floor.
