Iran attacks Thai cargo ship heading towards India in Strait of Hormuz; 20 crew members rescued, 3 missing

The ongoing war between Iran and Israel appears to be reaching a more dangerous level with each passing day. Amidst this conflict, Iran is keeping its eyes on the Strait of Hormuz. On Wednesday, Iran targeted a Thai cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

It is reported that the cargo ship suffered significant damage in this attack. Twenty of the crew members were on board the ship. Many of these crew members have been rescued, while three crew members are reported missing. The ship that was attacked was on its way to India.

The Royal Thai Navy has also issued a statement regarding the attack. According to this statement, the Mayuri Nari ship, a large cargo ship belonging to the Thai company Precious Shipping PCL, departed from Khalifa Port in the United Arab Emirates and was heading to Kandla Port in India when it was attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Photos released by the Royal Thai Navy showed thick black smoke billowing from the ship’s hull and superstructure, and life rafts floating in the surrounding water. The Royal Thai Navy said in a statement that the specific details and cause of the attack were currently under investigation. No group has claimed responsibility.
