Iran warns of stronger, wider, and more destructive attacks following Trump’s address

On April 2, 2026, Iran’s military issued a defiant response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s prime-time address the previous night, threatening “stronger, wider, and more destructive” attacks against the United States and Israel.

In his televised speech on April 1, Trump stated that the ongoing U.S.-Israel military campaign against Iran was “on track to complete all of America’s military objectives shortly.”

He warned of intensified strikes over the next two to three weeks, saying the U.S. would “hit them extremely hard” and potentially “bring them back to the Stone Ages.”

Trump also highlighted potential targets, including Iran’s electric-generating plants and oil infrastructure — noting that the latter remains untouched but could be completely destroyed if no deal is reached.

Iran rejected Trump’s claims of significant degradation to its capabilities and ongoing negotiations (which Tehran denies). A military spokesman, quoted by state media including Tansim and Iranian armed forces channels, declared that the war would continue “until your humiliation, disgrace, permanent and certain regret, and surrender.”

He added: “After the powerful and unbelievable blows you have received so far, expect from us actions that are stronger, wider, and more destructive.”

Fresh Attacks and Interceptions: Early on April 2, Iranian ballistic missiles and drones targeted areas linked to U.S. allies. The UAE reported downing 19 missiles and 26 drones; Bahrain intercepted 2 missiles and 10 drones; and Saudi Arabia downed at least 5 drones and 1 missile. Israel reported projectile impacts in northern Israel.

The U.S. embassy in Baghdad urged all American citizens to leave Iraq immediately, citing imminent threats from Iran-aligned militias in central Baghdad within the next 24–48 hours.
