Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Saturday claimed that it carried out attacks on US military facilities and assets in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States.

According to Iranian state media, the IRGC Aerospace Force targeted the US military base at Al-Azraq in Jordan, claiming that missile and drone strikes hit fighter jet shelters and aircraft parking areas. The force claimed that at least two fighter jets and three other US aircraft were destroyed, while several others suffered damage.

IRGC claims strikes on Gulf region assets

In a separate statement, the IRGC Navy claimed that it targeted a US fleet fuel supply dock at Bandar Al-Ahmadi in Kuwait and a military aircraft facility at Sheikh Isa in Bahrain using drones and missiles.

The Iranian force also claimed that the strikes destroyed an intelligence data centre in Bahrain and a US signals and communications centre in Kuwait. The claims have not been independently verified.

US confirms strikes on Iran; Gulf nations report attacks

The latest claims came after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces had completed the seventh consecutive night of strikes against Iran on July 17.

CENTCOM said its operations targeted surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities and maritime capabilities using fighter aircraft, drones and warships.

Meanwhile, Iran’s state media reported that three people were killed and eight others injured in the latest US strikes. Jordan said its air defence systems intercepted Iranian missiles, while Bahrain reported intercepting several aerial attacks. Kuwait also reported a fire at a power and water desalination plant following an Iranian attack.

The developments mark a further escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US, with military exchanges continuing across the region.
