Jaipur Businessman Gets ₹10 Lakh Extortion Threat, Car Vandalised After WhatsApp Death Threats

Jaipur: A businessman in Jaipur has approached the police after allegedly receiving an extortion demand of ₹10 lakh along with repeated death threats to his family through WhatsApp calls and messages. The victim claimed he has been receiving threatening messages for the past eight days, warning him of serious consequences if he failed to pay the money.

Threats Began with a WhatsApp Call

According to the police, the 45-year-old businessman received the first WhatsApp call on June 23 at around 2:22 pm. The caller initially claimed that some of his belongings were with the businessman. When the businessman informed him that he had dialled the wrong number, the caller allegedly demanded ₹10 lakh and threatened him.

The complainant initially disconnected the call after saying he would arrange the money. When he later stopped answering the WhatsApp calls, the accused allegedly began sending threatening messages.

Threatening Messages Sent After Calls Went Unanswered

According to the complaint, the accused claimed to have complete information about the businessman’s family members. The messages allegedly warned that no one would be able to help him if he ignored the threats.

One message reportedly read, “You won’t be forgiven later. No one will be able to help you.” Another warned that ignoring the messages was a “huge mistake” and that the businessman had been given enough time.

Car Windows Found Smashed Outside House

The businessman also alleged that after receiving another threatening message late at night, he found the windows of his car, which was parked outside his house, smashed the following morning.

The caller allegedly continued sending messages, claiming he had reached Jaipur and warning the businessman that he would “show” him what could happen if the extortion money was not paid.

‘I’ll Give You a Surprise Soon’: Final Threat

According to the complaint, the accused continued to send repeated threats after the businessman refused to pay. In one of the latest messages, the caller allegedly wrote, “I’ll deal with you today… I’ll give you a surprise soon. I’m coming over.”

Following the complaint, Jaipur Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials are tracing the mobile number used to make the WhatsApp calls and send the threatening messages. Further investigation is underway.
