A tragic road accident in Jaipur’s Murlipura area early Friday morning left a 28-year-old man dead after an iron angle from a roadside divider pierced his chest when the SUV, he was driving crashed into the structure at high speed near Kedia Palace Chowk.
The SUV reportedly a white Scorpio lost control and rammed into the metal divider on a late-night stretch of road. The impact snapped part of the metal railing, and a heavy iron angle shot through the windshield, fatally impaling the driver, identified as Anand Singh Shekhawat (28) of Kardhani. The vehicle was severely damaged.
Anand’s co-passenger, 22-year-old Shakti Pratap, seated beside him miraculously escaped with minor injuries. Police and fire brigade teams arrived at the scene, and emergency responders used cutters to remove the mangled metal and extract Anand’s body. He was rushed to Kanwatia Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police have seized the wrecked SUV and initiated a formal investigation into the exact cause of the crash. Over speeding or loss of vehicle control is being examined as a possible factor, and authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to reconstruct events leading to the collision.
