Jaipur Neeraj Murder Case: Daughter Accused of Plotting Mother’s Murder; Police Probe Occult Ritual Angle

Jaipur: The investigation into the Neeraj Sharma murder case has revealed fresh details, with police claiming that the murder was planned nearly a month in advance. Investigators are also examining an alleged occult ritual angle in the case.

Murder Plot Hatched a Month in Advance

According to the police investigation, an earlier attempt was made to kill Neeraj Sharma before the July 3 murder. The accused allegedly arrived in Jaipur in a black Thar SUV and attempted to run her over, but heavy traffic foiled the plan.

Police said the accused later devised a fresh plan for July 3, when Neeraj Sharma was allegedly struck by a Scorpio SUV while out for her morning walk. Investigators believe the incident was deliberately staged to appear as a road accident.

Alleged ₹7 Lakh Contract Payment

According to police, the main conspirator, Balram alias Ravi, allegedly paid ₹7 lakh to Hemant Sharma, a resident of Bharatpur, to execute the murder. Hemant is alleged to have carried out the killing with the help of his associates.

So far, seven accused, including Ayushi Sharma and Mohan Swaroop, have been arrested, while the alleged mastermind, Balram alias Ravi, remains absconding.

Two Motorcycles Seized; Search for Black Thar Continues

Police have seized two motorcycles allegedly used in the crime. Raids are underway to trace the black Thar SUV that investigators believe was used during the earlier failed attempt to kill the victim.

Victim’s Brother Levels Serious Allegations

The victim’s brother, Rakesh Sharma, alleged that Ayushi Sharma had been living with her mother but that her behaviour changed after the death of her father, Vijay Vashishth, following which she began living with her paternal uncle. He further alleged that Ayushi had previously assaulted her mother.

Rakesh Sharma also claimed that his brother-in-law, Vijay Vashishth, died under suspicious circumstances after being brought home from the hospital while undergoing treatment for a brain haemorrhage. He said he would file a separate FIR seeking an investigation into the matter.

He further demanded that police investigate the role of Ayushi’s paternal uncle, Mohan Swaroop, and other family members.

Case Background

Police allege that Ayushi Sharma, the victim’s daughter, conspired with her paternal uncle and cousin to murder her mother, Neeraj Sharma, over a property dispute and a government job. Investigators claim the accused hired contract killers for ₹7 lakh to run Neeraj Sharma over with a Scorpio SUV.

According to the investigation, the vehicle, allegedly travelling at around 130 kmph, struck Neeraj Sharma during her morning walk, throwing her nearly 100 feet. She died on the spot.

Investigation Widens

Police are now examining the entire conspiracy, including the alleged property dispute, compassionate appointment angle, financial transactions, CCTV footage and the role of the absconding accused. Investigators are also probing the alleged occult ritual angle as part of the ongoing investigation.

Officials said further disclosures are expected as the probe progresses.

Seven Arrested; One Accused Absconding

Police have arrested the following accused in connection with the case:

• Hemant Sharma (20) – Bayana (Bharatpur)
• Akash Sharma (23) – Khijuri, Rupbas (Bharatpur)
• Mohit Sharma (21) – Bharatpur
• Arvind Sharma (21) – Bharatpur
• Rohit Jatav (22) – Gahanoli Mod, Bharatpur

The alleged mastermind, Balram alias Ravi, remains absconding, and police have launched a search to trace and arrest him.
