Jaipur: Woman and Sister-in-Law Allegedly Assaulted, Brother Injured While Intervening

Jaipur: A dispute following a car collision in Jaipur’s Ramnagariya police station area escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving a young man seriously injured, police said.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred on June 27 around 5:15 p.m. in the Jagatpura service lane when a Swift car allegedly hit another vehicle carrying a woman and her sister-in-law.

Argument After Collision Turns Ugly

The woman alleged that after she objected to the accident, the occupants of the other car began abusing and misbehaving with her. She then contacted her brother, Ayush Gupta, who was following in another vehicle and reached the spot within minutes.

Brother Attacked After Reaching Spot

It is alleged that shortly after Ayush Gupta arrived, the situation escalated further as more individuals joined the confrontation. The woman claimed that attempts were made to snatch her mobile phone while she was recording the incident.

Her sister-in-law also alleged that she was manhandled during the altercation, while Ayush Gupta was brutally assaulted, resulting in serious head and eye injuries. He reportedly received three stitches on his head.

Recent Marriage Adds Emotional Angle

It is also reported that Ayush Gupta had got married just three days earlier, on June 23, and the family was still in post-wedding ceremonies when the incident occurred, leaving them in shock.

Police Response and Case Registered

The complainant alleged that despite calling emergency helplines 100 and 112, police reached the spot after a delay. However, officials have registered a case at Ramnagariya police station under relevant sections and initiated an investigation.

Police said the matter is being probed based on CCTV footage, mobile recordings, and other evidence. The investigation has been assigned to ASI Suresh Kumar.
