Jaipur Tragedy: Woman Dies After Road Accident While Heading to Collect Joining Letter

Jodhpur: Neha Upadhyay (26), a resident of Jodhpur, died in Jaipur on Wednesday. She was run over by a vehicle while alighting from a bus. The accident occurred near Bambala Culvert within the jurisdiction of the Malpura Gate police station in Jaipur.

Neha hailed from Gayatri Nagar, Pal Road, in Jodhpur. For the past three months, she had been staying at a paying guest (PG) accommodation on Rajat Path in Mansarovar, Jaipur, where she was pursuing a course in digital marketing.

Neha’s mother, Sunena Upadhyay (50), stated that she had spoken to her daughter just ten seconds before the accident. The very day the accident occurred was the day she was scheduled to receive a job joining letter.

Her father, Kishan Gopal Upadhyay (52), described it as a hit-and-run case. His daughter sustained a head injury and suffered severe blood loss, which led to her death. Neha’s last rites were performed on Thursday.

Wanted to expand her mother’s business

Neha’s father, Kishan Gopal, mentioned that Neha was also involved in finance management work (dealing with mutual funds and accounting). This business had been started by her mother, Sunena, and Neha wanted to work alongside her to expand it.

While pursuing her BBA at Lachu College in Jodhpur, she also managed the entire finance management operation. To help establish the business further, she had enrolled in a digital marketing course three months prior, around April 15th.

Young Woman Was Heading to Receive Joining Letter

Neha’s mother, Sunena Upadhyay, said she had spoken to Neha before the accident; Neha was on a bus at the time. She was due to receive her joining letter that very day.

Before getting off the bus, she had mentioned that she would be receiving the joining letter that day and would subsequently start a job at a private company. Her mother recounted that she had just hung up the phone when, ten seconds later, she received a call from an unknown number informing her that Neha had met with an accident.

People at the scene kept calling, urging her to reach the location quickly. They stated that she lay there in agony for ten minutes. CPR was administered during this time, but she had already lost a significant amount of blood.

Subsequently, bystanders took her to RUHS Hospital. From there, she was referred to SMS Hospital, but by then, her condition had become critical. She passed away around 2:30 PM.

Her family was planning her wedding.

Neha’s father said she wanted to stand on her own two feet and establish a business; that is why she had gone to Jaipur. They were also planning her wedding for this year and had started looking for a match, but fate had other plans.

Her father stated that neither her phone nor her bag was found after the accident. They do not know who hit her, what vehicle was involved, or who the people were. They only know that the person responsible fled the scene. Her phone and bag went missing after the accident.
