“They Were Blown to Pieces”: Jaish admits Masood Azhar’s family killed in Operation Sindoor

New Delhi: Terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed has for the first time admitted that several members of its chief Maulana Masood Azhar’s family were killed in the Indian attack during Operation Sindoor.

A video of Jaish commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri is going viral. In this video, he says that Azhar’s family members were blown to pieces and minced during India’s action in Bahawalpur on May 7.

India had launched the attack in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. During the operation, nine terrorist hideouts inside Pakistan, including Bahawalpur, were targeted.

10 members of Masood’s family were killed

In the Indian attack in Bahawalpur, 10 members of Masood’s family were killed. Apart from this, 4 associates were also killed. Those killed include Masood’s elder sister and her husband, Masood’s nephew and his wife, a niece of Masood and her five children.

Apart from this, four associates of Masood were also killed. Masood was not present at the spot at the time of the attack, due to which his life was saved.

According to BBC Urdu report, terrorist Masood had also issued a statement after the death of his family members. In this he had said that I would have been lucky if I had also died.

How did Masood Azhar escape, and where is he now?

Masood Azhar had been living in a campus called Markaz Subhanallah in the Chowk Azam area of ​​Bahawalpur for years.

Till 2011, there was only one mosque in this campus, after that buildings and other structures kept on increasing in the campus for the training of terrorists and other activities. On the basis of satellite images, its entire area is said to be 18 acres.

After the Pulwama attack in February 2019, Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility for it. After this, on India’s demand, the United Nations put Masood in the list of global terrorists. As international pressure increased, Pakistan said that the government had taken over Jaish’s Bahawalpur headquarters.

According to reports, Pakistan had increased Masood’s security. After the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan was apprehensive of such a strike, so it is believed that Masood was shifted from there beforehand.

According to Lt. Gen. Rameshwar Roy, ‘Masood has the protection of the army in Pakistan, but Pakistan does not accept that Masood is present on its soil. Therefore, Pakistan may try to hide the fact that Masood Azhar has been killed.’
