Jalandhar AAP MLA Raman Arora Returns Security, Read to know why

Raman Arora, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Jalandhar, has returned his government security cover. He took this decision after his annual event dedicated to Lord Balaji was allegedly blocked by the police.

Arora announced this via a Facebook post. The MLA had been provided with security, including a gunman once again, following a gap of one and a half years.

This post has created a stir in local politics. It is worth noting that just a few months ago, Raman Arora’s security personnel and other government perks had been withdrawn.

MLA Raman Arora had also participated in the special Assembly session held on, May 1st (Labor Day). It was during this time that security personnel and a pilot Gypsy arrived at MLA Raman Arora’s residence.

Raman Arora stated that he organizes an event dedicated to Lord Balaji every year. He alleged that this time, his event is being prevented from taking place due to a ‘personal vendetta.’ Arora made it clear that he does not require security from a Punjab Police force that obstructs his religious activities.

MLA Arrested by Police on May 23 Last Year

It is pertinent to mention that the Vigilance Bureau had apprehended the ATP (Assistant Town Planner) on May 14, 2025, while the MLA himself was arrested from his home in Ashok Nagar on May 23 of last year. Following revelations made by Arora, his son Rajan Arora, his in-law Raju Madan, Harpreet Kaur, and Makhija were named as accused in the conspiracy case.
