Jalandhar CIA Arrests Drug Smuggler With 101 Grams of Heroin, Car Seized

Jalandhar: The Jalandhar CIA staff team, while taking action against drug trafficking, arrested a drug smuggler along with his car. Police recovered 101 grams of heroin from the accused’s possession.

Accused Identified as Parvez Sidhu Alias Ghoda

The arrested accused has been identified as Parvez Sidhu alias Ghoda, son of Joginder Masih, resident of Jalowal, Police Station Bhogpur

This action was taken by the team of Inspector Pushp Bali, in-charge of CIA staff, on the instructions of SSP Harvinder Singh Virk, SP Dr. Mukesh Kumar, DSP (Investigation) Inderjit Singh Jalandhar Rural.

Arrest Made During Late-Night Patrolling

SSP Harvinder Singh Virk, while briefing the press, stated that a team of CIA staff, led by ASI Parvinder Singh, was dispatched to patrol the Adampur/Bhogpur area of ​​Police Station. During the patrol, when the police party arrived in Byans village via Jandu Singha via Alawalpur, a white Ertiga car (PB-01-G-0301) was spotted parked on the link road to Byans village.

Accused Tried to Flee on Seeing Police

The accused in the car panicked upon seeing the police and suddenly tried to drive away. The police team acted swiftly and stopped the car by parking a government vehicle in front of it. When the police searched the car, they recovered 101 grams of heroin from the dashboard.

The accused was subsequently arrested on the spot. A case has been registered against him at the Adampur Police Station, Jalandhar Rural, under sections 21-B and 61-85 of the NDPS Act.

The greed to get rich quickly made him a smuggler.

The SSP stated that the arrested accused is a sophisticated smuggler who began selling heroin in the hope of getting rich quickly. He would procure heroin at cheap prices from the Hamira and Subhanpur areas of Kapurthala district and supply it to the Adampur and Bhogpur areas. According to the police, the accused’s arrest has also exposed his ongoing drug network.

The accused will be produced in court and police remand will be obtained to determine where he sourced the heroin, to whom he supplied it, and who else is involved in this network. It is expected that many major revelations will be made during police remand.
