Heavy Rain Alert: Jalandhar DC Issues Emergency Orders, Cancels Official Leaves

Jalandhar: Jalandhar DC Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has issued new orders regarding the possibility of heavy rain in Punjab for the next three days. Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed all departments and agencies to remain on high alert.

He has cancelled the leave of officials and ordered them to remain stationed at their camp offices. The Municipal Corporation and related departments have been directed to ensure proper drainage in low-lying areas of the city. The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has been asked to prepare a backup plan to ensure power supply security.

Orders to be prepared for relief and assistance operations

The Revenue Department has been ordered to prepare for relief and assistance operations in case of a flood-like situation. SDM and tehsil-level teams have been instructed to increase vigilance and conduct field visits. The PHE department has been instructed to monitor drainage and drinking water supply systems. The administration has appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travel and remain vigilant during heavy rains.
