Jalandhar declared no-fly zone for two days, Read to know why

In view of the proposed visit of the President of India to Jalandhar, the district administration has tightened security arrangements. Following the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, the entire Jalandhar district has been declared a ‘no-fly zone’ from January 15 to 16, 2026, to prevent any security breaches.

According to the administration, President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Jalandhar on January 16, 2026. Keeping this in mind, the district administration, police, and other security agencies will remain on high alert, and strict surveillance will be maintained throughout the district.

Additional District Magistrate/Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amaninder Kaur issued this order under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defence Code, 2023. Under this order, there will be a complete ban on flying any type of civil drones, remote or pilot aircraft systems, paragliders, hot air balloons, and helicopters within the limits of Jalandhar district.

However, official helicopters and aircraft of the President and other VVIPs are exempted from this order. The administration has clarified that this decision was taken on the recommendation of security agencies.
