Unidentified Men Open Fire at Doctor’s Home in Jalandhar; No One Injured

Jalandhar: In a shocking incident early Saturday morning, three men on a motorcycle opened fire at the home of Dr. Yashpal in Santokhpura, Jalandhar. Fortunately, no one was injured, but 10 bullets hit the walls of the house.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., and the attack was captured on CCTV. Footage shows two men arriving on a bike, parking in the middle of the street, and firing continuously at the house and a car for about one minute. Both men had their faces covered. Some belongings of the attackers fell on the street during the incident.

No Ransom Demands, No Previous Threats

Dr. Yashpal, who was sleeping with his family at the time, told the police that he had not received any threats or ransom demands in the past few days. Police confirmed that the attack was not linked to ransom and that the doctor had no personal enmity with anyone.

Local councilor Rajesh Thakur received a call from Dr. Yashpal at 2 a.m. and immediately informed the police. He also stated that he has brought the matter to the attention of Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, who assured that the accused will be arrested soon.

Investigation Underway

The forensic team visited the site, marking bullet impacts and collecting evidence. ACP Jayant Puri and SHO of Police Station 8 inspected the scene and confirmed that police teams have been formed to identify and apprehend the accused.

Dr. Yashpal is a well-known doctor in the area and also runs a hospital in Moga. His family is reportedly shaken by the incident but unharmed. Police are investigating the matter thoroughly.
