Two accused arrested for firing at a doctor’s house in Jalandhar; Two pistols recovered

Jalandhar: Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the firing incident at Dr. Yashpal’s home in Santokhpura, Jalandhar. Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur held a press conference in this regard. The arrested suspects have been identified as Jagjit Singh and Lovepreet Singh, residents of Amritsar.

Recovered Weapons and Bike Link Suspects to the Crime

A case has been registered against them at Police Station 8 under FIR No. 55, dated 28.02.2026/25,109 BNS and 25 Arms Act. Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur stated that two pistols were recovered from the accused. These included a .30 bore and a .32 bore pistol, both with magazines.

The bike used in the crime was recovered.

Additionally, a .32-bore pistol, a .30-bore range pistol, and a .30-bore magazine were recovered. The Splendor motorcycle used in the incident and the clothing worn during the crime were also recovered from the accused. Police will present the accused in court and question them regarding other incidents and the recovered weapons.

Details of the Attack on Dr. Yashpal’s Home in Santokhpura

The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. on February 28th. Two bike-borne suspects opened fire on the doctor’s new car and his home. They fled the scene after committing the crime. The suspects had a religious flag on their bike and headed towards Kartarpur.

Since the incident, police have been searching for the accused, scanning CCTV footage. The attackers fired a total of 10 bullets at the doctor’s home and car.
