Jalandhar Fire: Sports Shop, Factory Gutted in Blaze

Two incidents of arson were reported in Jalandhar late on Friday night. The first incident occurred at a sports shop located at Mai Hira Gate, while the second incident occurred in a factory situated at the Lather Complex. In both cases, the initial investigation points to a short circuit as the cause.

Fortunately, due to the presence of mind of local people and the efficiency of the fire department, the fire was brought under control in time, preventing any loss of human life. However, commercial properties were damaged in this incident.

Fire at the sports shop in Mai Hira Gate
The first incident took place at the ‘Raman Sports’ shop located in Mai Hira Gate. According to information, the shop was completely closed when the fire broke out. When nearby people saw smoke coming from inside the shop, they immediately informed the shop owner and the fire department. The fire spread so rapidly that it also posed a threat to the surrounding shops.

Local People Showed Bravery
Before the arrival of the fire department, local people had already gathered in large numbers. As the shop was closed, people showed courage by breaking the locks of the shop and began attempts to extinguish the fire. With great effort and limited resources, people tried to control the fire to prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.

Fire at ‘Ratna Brothers’ Factory
Just as the administration was dealing with the first incident, a second report came from the Lyder Complex. A sudden massive fire broke out in the ‘Ratna Brothers’ factory located here. Being an industrial area, the risk of the fire spreading was quite high. On receiving the information, fire personnel headed to the site with their vehicles.

Fire Department Action
Fire Department officer Naresh Kumar stated that they received the information around 10:25 PM. The department immediately sent two fire trucks to the site. He confirmed that the primary cause of both incidents was found to be a short circuit. The fire personnel extinguished the fire at the factory in time and prevented it from turning into a major accident.

No Human Loss
The officer said that the best thing about these two incidents was that there was no human loss. Currently, the administration is assessing the damage, and the electricity department has been instructed to conduct an investigation.
