Youth Shot at in Jalandhar Car Attack; Bullet Grazes Neck, Old Rivalry Suspected

Jalandhar: Late at night in the Suchi Pind area of ​​Jalandhar, bike-borne assailants fired four rounds at a car driver. A bullet grazed the neck of the driver, Anmol, leaving him critically injured. Anmol is a resident of Laddewali. He was admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment; however, given his critical condition, he was subsequently referred to the Amritsar Medical College.

The injured Anmol’s mother, Baljit Kaur, informed the police that her son had an old feud with certain youths in the locality. She alleged that the accused had been conducting surveillance on Anmol for the past few days. Consequently, Anmol had changed his gym schedule from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Attack Carried Out by Two Bike-Borne Youths

According to Baljit Kaur, Anmol was returning home from the gym in his car around 10:00 PM. As he approached Suchi Pind, two youths riding a motorcycle opened fire on him using a pistol. After the shooting, the accused fled the scene, causing panic and commotion in the area.

Fired Upon While Inside His Car

The family also revealed that some time ago, a man named Mandeep was murdered in Suchi Pind, following which an individual named Balli had filed a false case against Anmol. Baljit Kaur alleged that Balli along with Babbu, Mukesh, Goli and several other unidentified youths, chased her son’s car, cornered him, and then opened fire.

Police Reach the Crime Scene

Upon receiving information about the incident, Joint Commissioner Sandeep Sharma and DCP Manpreet Dhillon rushed to the spot. The police have recovered two empty cartridges and a mobile phone from the crime scene. Joint Commissioner Sandeep Sharma has recorded the statements of the victim’s family, and an investigation into the matter has been initiated. He assured the family that the accused would be arrested shortly.
