July 25, 2026
Jalandhar: A large number of Gen-Z youth are set to stage a protest outside the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office in Jalandhar on Saturday over various demands, including accountability in paper leak cases, education reforms and transparency in recruitment examinations.
In view of the planned demonstration, the district administration and police have increased security arrangements around the District Administrative Complex to maintain law and order and prevent inconvenience to the public.
Youth demand action over paper leaks, recruitment reforms
The protesting youth said they have been raising concerns over issues affecting students and job aspirants for a long time.
Their key demands include strict action against those involved in paper leak cases, improvements in the education system and greater transparency in competitive and recruitment examinations.
The protesters said the younger generation wants concrete action and accountability rather than assurances.
Peaceful sit-in planned outside DC office
The organisers have stated that the protest will remain peaceful. The youth are expected to gather outside the DC office, raise slogans and submit a memorandum to administrative officials.
They said the demonstration is aimed at highlighting student-related concerns and seeking solutions from the authorities.
Police deploy security, barricades installed
The police administration has made security arrangements around the protest site. Barricades have been placed on important routes leading towards the DC office, and additional police personnel have been deployed.
Officials said they are open to dialogue with the protesters but will ensure that public movement and normal activities in the city are not disrupted.
The administration is closely monitoring the situation as preparations for the protest continue.
