Shots Fired at jalandhar’s Vardan IVF Centre in Mota Singh Nagar; Probe Underway

An unidentified biker opened fire outside a private fertility clinic in Punjab’s Jalandhar city on Saturday night, triggering panic among hospital staff.

The incident took place outside Vardan IVF Centre in the city’s Mota Singh Nagar area. According to police, the suspect arrived at around 9:30 p.m., parked his motorcycle on the roadside, loaded his weapon, and then fired approximately four to five rounds at the hospital’s main gate before fleeing the scene on his bike.

CCTV footage from the area shows the attacker wearing a helmet, which he did not remove at any point during the incident, making identification difficult. The footage has been seized by officials from Police Station Division No. 6, who are leading the investigation.

Police said bullet marks were found on the hospital gate. Technical teams have been deployed to help identify the accused, and efforts are underway to trace the suspect using the motorcycle’s registration number. Entry and exit points in the vicinity are also being examined through additional CCTV cameras.

At the time of the shooting, several staff members were present inside the hospital. No injuries have been reported, but the incident left employees shaken.

The hospital management has not yet issued an official statement regarding the attack. Investigations are ongoing.
