Jalandhar: In a major crackdown under the anti-drug campaign, the CIA Staff of Jalandhar Police has arrested four accused and recovered illegal weapons and narcotics from their possession.

Major Recovery by Police Team

According to the press note issued by the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, the police team recovered:

• 3 illegal pistols
• Live cartridges
• Around 1 kg of opium

The action was carried out under the directions of senior police officials as part of the ongoing campaign against drugs and crime.

Two Separate Operations

In the first operation conducted on April 23, police arrested two accused:

• Anil alias Buggi
• Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky

From them, around 1 kg opium was recovered. A case under the NDPS Act was registered at Bhargo Camp Police Station.

In the second operation on April 24, another two accused were arrested:

• Asees alias Sohota
• Maninder Gill

Police recovered 3 illegal pistols and live cartridges from them. A case under the Arms Act was registered at Division No. 1 Police Station.

Further Investigation Underway

Police said that the accused are being questioned and further investigation is ongoing. Authorities are also checking their links and possible involvement in other criminal activities.

The action is part of Punjab Police’s continued efforts to curb drug trafficking and illegal arms possession in the region.
