Jalandhar Police Arrest Two, Seize 80 Grams Heroin and ₹2.05 Lakh Drug Money

Jalandhar: Jalandhar Police has achieved major success in its ongoing anti-drug drive. A team of CIA staff has arrested two persons and recovered 80 grams of heroin and drug money worth Rs 2,05,000. The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act against both the accused and have started an investigation.

CIA team raids focal point

According to information, a team led by ACP (D) Jayant Puri and CIA in-charge Inspector Surinder Kumar conducted an anti-drug drive in Focal Point, Jalandhar. During the raid, two suspicious-looking persons were detained and searched, resulting in the recovery of heroin and cash.

Both accused arrested on the spot – Police Commissioner

Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur said that the operation was carried out on December 4. Both the accused were arrested on the spot.

The arrested accused are identified as follows:

Gurpreet Singh alias Sajjan, father Gurjit Singh

Prabhjot alias Prabh, father Jaspal Singh

Both are residents of Preet Nagar, Sodhal Road, Jalandhar.

Case registered under NDPS Act, one accused already has a previous case registered

The police have registered a case against both of them under various sections of the NDPS Act on December 4, 2025 at Police Station Division No. 8 in Case No. 295.

Investigation has revealed that a case was earlier registered against Gurpreet Singh alias Sajjan on May 8, 2022 under sections 21, 27-A, 61-85 of the NDPS Act.

Police are looking for links to a larger network

The police are now conducting an in-depth investigation to understand the network and supply chain links of the accused, so that action can be taken against the entire gang.
