Jalandhar: In a major breakthrough, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has arrested Manjit Singh Bedi, a fugitive wanted in the US for benefit fraud. Bedi was reportedly on the list of the US’s ‘Most-Wanted Fraudsters’ and was wanted in connection with a SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefit fraud case.
According to the police, the accused had fled to India via Canada in April 2026 to evade the law.

A case regarding SNAP benefit fraud had been registered against Manjit Singh Bedi in the US. He had arrived in India from abroad to escape legal action, following which the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police arrested him.
