Jalandhar police arrest four santchers, recovers 11 mobile phones, gold ornaments and two vehicles

Jalandhar: In line with its ongoing mission to curb criminal activities, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, under the guidance of Commissioner of Police, Ms. Dhanpreet Kaur, the police teams headed by SHO PS Division No. 6 & 8 Jalandhar have achieved significant success by apprehending four accused involved in multiple snatching incidents.

Sharing the details, CP Jalandhar said that FIR No. 124 dated 03.07.2025 u/s 304 and 317(2) BNS (added later) was registered at PS Division No. 6, Jalandhar, on the statement of Sawaranjit Kaur, w/o Gurmit Singh, r/o House No. 13B, Street No. 6, Jalandhar. The complainant reported that on 29.06.2025, while returning home from college on her Activa scooter, an unidentified person on another Activa intercepted her and snatched her purse containing:13 pro, one gold bangel (approx 2 tolas), one gold ring (approx 2 grams), gold earnings (3 grams) and 2 ATMs and other important identity proofs. Using technical sources and CCTV analysis, the police successfully apprehended the accused identified as Raghav, s/o Pawan Kumar, r/o New Model House, Jalandhar.

Further investigation revealed that Raghav was also involved in another FIR No. 138 dated 23.07.2025 u/s 304 and 317(2) BNS (added later) registered at PS Division No. 6, where the complainant Komal d/o Ram Avtar r/o 629 Back side Santkartar Dera, Jalandhar alleged a similar snatching of a purse containing an iPhone and a silver bangle. The police recovered a total of 6 mobile phones (4 Android and 2 iPhone), a gold bangle, a gold ring, a silver bangle along with the activa used in the crime from the accused.

CP Jalandhar further said that During its investigation of FIR No. 174 dated 25.07.2025 u/s 304(2), 317(2) BNS, was registered at Police Station Division No. 8 Jalandhar, the police apprehended three accused and recovered 5 snatched mobile phones and 1 motorcycle used in the crime. The accused have been identified as 1. Ajit Singh S/o Balram Singh R/o Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, 2. Kishan Kumar S/o Brij Kishor R/o Street No. 7, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Jalandhar, 3. Sabir Ali S/o Ashak Mian R/o Gali No. 6, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Jalandhar. It was further disclosed that accused Ajit Singh already has three previous FIRs related to snatching and violations of the Arms Act, while accused Kishan Kumar has one previous FIR related to snatching.

CP Jalandhar reiterated that Commissionerate Police Jalandhar is fully committed to maintaining law and order and will continue to take strict action against such anti-social elements to ensure the safety and security of the public.
