Punjab’s “Yudh Nashian Virudh”: Jalandhar Police Freeze ₹45 Lakh Property of Drug Trafficker

Jalandhar: As part of the Punjab government’s “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, Jalandhar Police are continuously taking action against drug traffickers. In addition to apprehending them, they are seizing their assets acquired through drug trafficking.

₹45 Lakh Property Frozen Under NDPS Act Provisions

As part of this campaign, property worth approximately ₹4.5 million belonging to a drug trafficker has been frozen. Police have also posted a notice outside the accused’s home.

Accused Arrested in NDPS Case Registered at Division No. 5 Police Station

This action was taken based on cases registered under the NDPS Act and the seizure of drug money. As part of the Punjab government’s campaign, Jalandhar Police is continuously taking strict action against drug smugglers. Those smugglers who have cases registered under the NDPS Act are freezing their assets acquired through drug trafficking. In this connection, this action was taken against accused Joil Kalyan, son of Jeevan Kalyan alias Jeevan Singh, arrested in case number 138, dated 04.10.2025, registered at Police Station Division No. 5, Jalandhar, under sections 21 and 27-A of the NDPS Act.

Jalandhar Commissionerate Vows Continued Crackdown on Drug Trade

According to police, 20 grams of heroin and ₹150,000 in drug money were recovered from the accused. The accused is a resident of village Sarai Khas, Police Station Kartarpur, and currently resides at house number 508, New Amrit Vihar, backside Verka Milk Plant, Salempur Muslimana, Police Station Division number 01, Commissionerate Jalandhar. During the investigation, it was revealed that the property was acquired through drug trafficking.

Based on this, the Jalandhar police have frozen the accused’s property, valued at approximately 45 lakh rupees. Police officials say this action against drug traffickers will continue in the future, so that the drug trade can be completely curbed.
