Due to Feeder Repairs Several Areas in Jalandhar to Face 4-Hour Power Cut Today

Jalandhar: There is important news for consumers falling under the Lamba sub-division in Jalandhar. Essential maintenance work is scheduled to be carried out at the 220 KV Badshahpur sub-station. Due to this general maintenance, the power supply to 17 key 11 kV feeders under the Lamba Sub-division will be completely suspended from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The department has appealed to the public to complete any essential electricity and water-related tasks in advance, keeping this four-hour shutdown in mind.

With the summer season approaching, the Electricity Department has intensified its efforts to upgrade and repair its infrastructure. In line with this initiative, major maintenance work has been scheduled at the 220 KV Badshahpur sub-station. To ensure the smooth execution of this work, the Electricity Department has decided to implement a major power shutdown tomorrow.

Power Outage from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

This shutdown will be effective on Sunday, May 17, 2026. According to official information received from the department, the power outage will commence at 9:00 AM and continue until 1:00 PM. During this period—spanning approximately four hours—the electricity supply in the affected areas will remain completely suspended.

Impact on Areas Under Lamba Sub-division

This maintenance work will have a direct impact on dozens of villages, residential colonies, and commercial establishments falling under the Lamba sub-division. The department has released a list of all the 11 KV feeders that will be switched off during this period, thereby allowing technical staff to carry out repairs on the grid and power lines without any safety risks.
