Jalandhar: Eight Areas to Face Six-Hour Power Outage Today for Line Repairs

Jalandhar: Eight areas of Jalandhar will experience a power outage today. Powercom will impose a six-hour power outage from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday to repair lines and feeders. According to the department, this shutdown is being implemented to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during the winter season and prevent issues such as overloading and transformer failure.

This repair work will directly impact several densely populated areas of the city. Affected areas include Baba Ishwar Das Colony, Basant Kunj, Sarabha Nagar, Toor Enclave Phase-3, Kalia Colony Phase-1, Phase-2, and Phase-3, as well as Salempur and Kheewa Wali Colony. Thousands of consumers in these areas are expected to face disruptions in water supply, household chores, and small businesses due to the daytime power outage.

People should complete their electricity-related work before 10 a.m.

Powercom officials stated that all repair work will be completed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Supply will be restored after that. Department officials urged consumers to complete all their important electricity-related tasks before the power cut, i.e., before 10 a.m. They should complete tasks like charging their mobile phones and filling their water tanks in the morning.
