Jalandhar private school receives bomb threat, children dismissed

A private school in Jalandhar received a bomb threat at around 9:30 am on Thursday, causing panic among the school administration, students, and parents. Upon receiving the information, the school administration immediately informed the police. Police and security teams arrived at the scene, and the entire school campus was evacuated as a precaution.

Children sent home safely, bomb squad investigation underway

The school administration dismissed the children to prevent any untoward incident and sent them home safely. The bomb squad and police team arrived at the scene and began investigating the school premises. It is reported that this is the third time in the last two months that the school has received a bomb threat.

Parents worried by the holiday message

Many parents reported receiving calls and messages from the school informing them that the school was canceling the school due to security reasons. Some parents were called to pick up their children at 10 am. This sudden message created an atmosphere of anxiety and panic among the family members.

Threat received amid high alert in Punjab

This threat comes at a time when security is already tight in Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is also on a visit to Jalandhar today. Recently, explosions were reported outside the BSF Chowk in Jalandhar and the Amritsar Army Area, while threatening messages are also being received continuously in the state.

Student demands strict action

An eighth-grade student said that the school has been closed several times in the past few months due to bomb threats. The student demanded the administration take strict action against the culprits.

Meeting between school administration and police officials

Dr. Nipun Khanna stated that the school holiday message was sent to the school in anticipation of any potential threat. Police officials are currently meeting with the school administration and the investigation is ongoing.
