Jalandhar Accident: Pickup Truck Collides with Truck, One Dead and Two Critically Injured

Jalandhar: The number of road accidents in Jalandhar is steadily increasing due to dense fog. A tragic road accident occurred on Jalandhar’s National Highway, where a pickup truck loaded with chickens collided with a truck, killing one person on the spot and seriously injuring two others. The accident was so horrific that the front portion of the pickup truck was completely destroyed.

According to reports, the accident occurred near the village of Chacharari on the National Highway. The pickup truck, loaded with chickens, was traveling from Pathankot to Ludhiana. Parvesh, a 55-year-old resident of Ludhiana, died on the spot, while two others were seriously injured.

The pickup truck was completely destroyed in the accident.

The horror of the accident can be gauged from the fact that the front of the pickup truck was completely shattered after the collision. The occupants were trapped in the metal debris, causing screams and cries at the scene.

The administration reached the spot after the incident

Upon receiving information about the accident, Road Safety Force in-charge Satnam Singh arrived at the scene with his team. They immediately began rescue operations, evacuated the injured, and arranged for their transportation to the hospital. Goraya police were also informed of the incident.

Dense Fog and Vehicle Malfunction Contributed

Pickup driver Harpreet Singh told the SSF team that the vehicle’s bearing suddenly jammed, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash directly into the rear of the truck ahead. The technical failure occurred so suddenly that the driver had no time to react.

The injured were taken to the civil hospital

The injured were taken to Phagwara Civil Hospital by 108 ambulance, where they remain in critical condition. The body of the deceased has been sent to Phillaur Civil Hospital for a postmortem.

Police seized the damaged vehicles

Upon receiving information about the incident, police from Goraya police station arrived at the scene, seized the damaged vehicles, and began an investigation. The vehicles were removed from the highway using a crane, and traffic was restored shortly thereafter. Police are currently investigating the matter.
