Jalandhar: Woman dies in road accident after collision near Garha Road bus stand

Jalandhar: A woman died in a road accident on Garha Road in Jalandhar. The woman was returning home with her son and daughter on an Activa after getting medication from PIMS Hospital. When the scooter collided with another scooter outside Pratap Dhaba, located behind the Kings Hotel, near the bus stand.

In fact, as the woman approached the eatery, another scooter suddenly collided with her Activa, coming from the street. The impact was so severe that all three were thrown onto the road. The woman died on the spot, while her son and daughter were injured. Upon receiving the information, ASI Mahinder Singh of the Bus Stand Police Station arrived at the scene with his team and began the investigation.

The deceased was a resident of Star Colony.

Before police arrived, locals rushed the woman to the Civil Hospital in an ambulance, where doctors pronounced her dead. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Santosh Rani, wife of Ravi Kumar, a resident of Star Colony, Jalandhar.

The son was driving the scooter

Her son, Suraj, was driving the Activa at the time of the accident. The man who struck the woman fled, abandoning his Activa at the scene. The woman’s body has been sent to the Civil Hospital for a postmortem. Police have launched a search for the absconding Activa rider and the investigation is ongoing.
