Jalandhar: Father and Son Attacked in Silver Plaza Market, Police Probe Underway

Jalandhar: In Jalandhar’s Silver Plaza Market, a father and son were attacked due to an old feud. The assailants severely injured both victims by striking them with sharp-edged weapons and the butts of pistols. The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital, and the police at Police Station No. 8 have been informed.

The injured victim, Sonu, stated that he had come to Silver Plaza Market with his family to have a meal. During this time, a group of youths called out his son, Nikhil, by name and asked him to step aside for a private conversation. As soon as Nikhil went to speak with them, the accused attacked him using sharp-edged weapons and pistol butts.

Attacked with Sharp-Edged Weapons

When Sonu stepped forward to save his son, the assailants struck his hand as well with a sharp-edged weapon. Hearing the commotion during the attack, bystanders rushed forward to offer assistance. Upon seeing people approaching, the accused fled the scene. The family also recorded a video of the attack on their mobile phone.

Sonu has filed a complaint regarding this incident with the police at Police Station No. 8. ASI Gurmel Singh, the investigating officer at Police Station No. 8, stated that they had received information from the control room regarding the attack on the father and son in Silver Plaza Market. A police team immediately reached the spot.

ASI Gurmel Singh further added that footage from CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the crime scene is being scrutinized. He gave an assurance that appropriate legal action would be taken based on the statements provided by the victim’s family.
