Bihar elections 2025: Jan Suraaj releases second list of 65 candidates, Prashant Kishor’s name missing again

Patna: Prashant Kishor’s party, Jansuraj, released its second list for the Bihar elections on Monday. The party’s second list includes the names of 65 candidates.

Senior lawyer Abhaykant Jha from Bhagalpur has been given the ticket. 74-year-old Abhaykant Jha, who represented Muslims in the Bhagalpur riots, was introduced by Prashant Kishor at a press conference and welcomed into the party.

Prashant Kishor said that the party is preparing the list of 243 candidates by selecting good people from every section of the society.

The list released today includes 19 reserved seats, while 46 are general category seats. The list includes 18 SC, 1 ST, and 11 Muslim candidates.

One-third participation of an extremely backward society in tickets: PK

Prashant Kishor said, “We promised that everyone would be given participation according to their numbers. We said we would select the best people from the community. When the 243 names are announced, there will hardly be a community left without a ticket.”

“We have decided that 70 people from the extremely backward community will contest the elections. If they don’t have the resources, the party will provide them. They will also be trained.”

Combining both lists, candidates have been announced for 116 seats, 25 of which are reserved. The number of reserved seats is being increased to 25. Ninety-one seats remain, 31 of which are reserved for the extremely backward community.
