Jaunpur: A tragic road accident took place in the Kotwali area of Jaunpur on Thursday morning. Sandeep Tiwari (40), a teacher of a private school, was returning after dropping his seven-year-old daughter from school. While riding his bike, his neck got stuck in a Chinese manjha.
Chinese manjha cuts teacher’s neck
Sandeep tried to remove the manjha, but the bike lost control and he fell on the road. As he fell, the manjha severely injured his neck, causing his neck to be cut in half. Blood was flowing like a fountain, and Sandeep was lying on the road, groaning in pain.
Died because of excessive bleeding
Neighbours immediately rushed him to the hospital for medical attention. On reaching the district hospital, doctors tried to revive him for 15 minutes, but he could not be saved due to excessive bleeding.
Locals demanded action from the administration.
The family rushed to the spot as soon as the accident was known. Sandeep’s mother and wife fainted after seeing the scene. Locals are demanding action from the administration and police against those selling Chinese mats.
Chinese Manjha banned in Uttar Pradesh
Chinese Manjha are completely banned in Uttar Pradesh. However, according to local reports, it is being sold openly. Chinese Manjha contain nylon, metal powder and glass, which makes them sharp and dangerous.
City Magistrate launches investigation and announces campaign
City Magistrate Indira Nandan Singh said that the matter is being investigated. Some Mnjhas have been recovered from the scene. A campaign against Chinese manjha will be launched in the city soon and legal action will be taken against those responsible.
